Thor didn’t mind these fancy parties too much. Some of them were fun and reminded him of times on Asgard. This party at the museum was not one of those times. You had to be quiet and just wander around and sip boring alcohol. Not only that but people kept bothering him when all he wanted to do was look at the near sculptures and pictures. Thor actually liked art even if he didn’t always understand it.

So when he spotted a gorgeous woman who seemed to be all by herself he didn’t hesitate to approach her, hoping to get away from all the other people who kept bothering them.

“Excuse me,” Thor said, smiling at her as he loosened the tie on his suit a bit. “Are you a guest or one of the works of art?”

Thor was a little drunk. The sort of drunk where he would either need to consider sobering up soon to avoid a hangover or get a lot more drunk so that the hangover he had would be worth it. For the moment though he was stepping away from the rest of the part while Volstagg told a story that Thor had heard a hundred times if he'd heard it once. The villagers that they were with were eating the story up, happy to have such esteemed guests as part of their feast as a thanks for rescuing them.

Downing the last of his drink Thor shuffled just a bit away from the rest of the part, smiling as he looked up at the night sky. There were so many stars in the sky, so many planets on each of them and so many had all sorts of different types of life. Thor loved life, he loved living things. He loved being alive. Fight, drinking, flying, his family. So many things to love!

Alright, perhaps he was more than a little drunk but that didn't matter. There were so many things to rush head-long into, so many new and interesting things to see that he could hardly wait. He often didn't wait, actually, although that wasn't always a bad thing. Like when he rushed into battle and took the brunt of the attack, that wasn't bad at all. That was noble, right? Yes, it was certainly noble.

At least maybe it was? Sometimes it was hard for Thor to be sure about things like that. He had such a strong, charming, winning personality and was a prince of Asgard he wondered if people were just afraid to give dissenting opinions. His father often wasn't but then was that just Odin being Odin and being difficult? There were very few people in his life Thor could count on to be honest with him while also caring about him.

Work friends were weird. Apparently sometimes you find yourself working alongside people that you'd be fighting against earlier. Or at least that's what the Avengers had told Thor about the Scarlet Witch and how she was now one of them. Thor didn't really have a problem with it, he was brother to Loki so he understood redemption. Redemption and tolerance without being continually stabbed in the back was new though. And nice.

Also, Thor knew what it was like to lose a brother and while Wanda was taking it well he knew that hurt could never completely go away. You could only hope to eventually have the dull ache diminish to where it didn't constantly feel like it was going to rip your heart in half.

"You know, I really think you should come to Asgard sometime," Thor told Wanda as he wiped away a bit of beer foam from his beard. "You could find more people there to tutor you in the use of your magic. That and it is truly one of the most glorious sites in all the Nine Realms."
